ING’s announcement, which was published in the Dutch ‘Financial Daily’, is a big relief for me. Finally one of the major Dutch listed companies changed its policy and stopped applying sales targets for ING Financial Markets Sales (the company’s traders). Teams of employees will not longer be evaluated based on revenues since that does not contribute to the profitability of the division. Instead, appraisals of employees will mainly be based on client satisfaction and opinions of colleagues. And guess what?
